A Queen Anne Secretaire damaged by fire, smoke and water in the Hampton Court Palace fire in 1986 which was lovingly restored by Bretts with their customary care, knowledge and craftsmanship

The client had one old unrestored birch console table made c. 1820-1830.
We restored the old piece and made a new table to match.

The client had one old Queen Anne walnut chair which was made in the early 18th century.
We made 11 copies to create a set of 12 dining chairs.

A.J. Brett has restored several pieces of furniture for us and we have been delighted with the results. They recently restored an Art Deco dining table and two matching chairs. The suite is bird's eye maple and much loved. The table was damaged by removers and two of the chairs had lost some veneer. When they were returned it was impossible to tell where the damage had been. All of the staff we have encountered have been most courteous and helpful.
