Meet our experienced team

Alan Nugent
Director
Alan started out at A.J. Brett dealing with general management and sales development. He enjoys working in a business which restores antique and modern furniture to their former beauty, thereby giving pleasure to their owners. When the opportunity arose, he decided to buy the company.

Rutherford Latty
Chief Restorer & Cabinet Maker
Rutherford has over 30 years’ experience as a cabinet maker specialising in antique furniture restoration. He has gained his experience in several restoration companies both in London and in the home counties. He has been at A.J. Brett since 2003, where he uses his skills to undertake very difficult restoration projects.

Jackie Chambon
Chief Polisher
Jackie joined A.J. Brett in 2013 and has considerable experience in antique furniture restoration both as a cabinet maker and polisher. She specialises in more intricate work and has already shown us that her skills in this area of restoration are extremely valuable to the company.

Brendan Coolican
Upholsterer
Brendan has over 30 years’ experience in traditional and modern upholstery. He has extensive expertise in the reupholstery of leather armchairs and Chesterfields and 20th century Scandinavian furniture. Brendan can revive the finish of faded leather and can make cushions to any style.

Tom Forster
Bespoke Furniture & Cabinet Maker
Tom joined A.J. Brett in 2022 and has more than 15 years of experience in carpentry, while he further developed his woodworking skills by building furniture and bass guitars in his free time. He joined us to gain more experience in furniture restoration.

Megan Arch
Junior Polisher & Specialist Painter
Megan specialises in the restoration of oil paintings, chinoiserie, gilding and general decorative finishes. She is equally comfortable working on site in churches and cathedrals, and in the workshop. Megan enjoys executing specialist finishes such as trompe d’ oeil, limewash and faux marbling.

Nabeelah Moonsun
Cabinet Maker
Nabeelah has a Fine Art background and later re-trained in Bench Joinery and Carpentry. She has worked in furniture making, picture framing and props, combining her art with craftsmanship which has led her to restoration at A.J. Brett.

Eleonora Montis
Apprentice Cabinet Maker & Restorer
Eleonora is deeply passionate about furniture restoration and has devoted her free time to developing her skills in this craft. Alongside her work at A.J. Brett, she is currently enrolled in a restoration course at the School of Stuff in Dalston. Eleonora is eager to transform her passion into a professional career. She recently joined the team and looks forward to contributing her skills and growing within the field.

Adam
Driver & Mover
Adam has many years of experience in transporting and delivering high quality antique furniture and is our exclusive transporter. Adam is been working with AJ Brett since 2019.

Phil has worked with Adam for over 20 years and together they make an excellent team.
